UKLFI statement in response to a Joint Statement from the Board of Deputies and Jewish Leadership Council regarding Solutions Not Sides.

We are disappointed by the recent statement of the Jewish Leadership Council (JLC) and Board of Deputies (BoD) regarding Solutions not Sides (SnS). We remain concerned about the SnS programme for reasons we have set out in detailed reports. SnS has not provided specific responses to us on the vast majority of the points set out in these reports.

We note that the JLC and BoD reserve the right to review SnS materials on a regular basis. We hope this will be done with appropriate rigour and will take into account the detailed points made in our reports.

However, we wish to avoid escalating this issue while the war is on – we are submerged with other matters arising from the vast increase in antisemitic,  anti-Israel and pro-terrorist activities which are being reported to us and we also wish to avoid communal division at this time.

Before Hamas and allied terrorists started the current war, UKLFI Ltd had  written a  letter to the  Charity Commission   setting out some specific concerns regarding SnS. The Charity Commission is examining the points we raised but, so far as we are aware, it has not yet reached a decision nor opened a formal investigation. We will provide an update when we are notified of its decision.
