UKLFI: Supporting Israel with legal skills

UKLFI makes submissions to the ICC Appeals Chamber

The Appeals Chamber of the International Criminal Court is hearing the Appeal by the Prosecutor from the Pre-Trial Chamber’s Decision not to authorise an investigation in the “Situation in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan” from 4 to 6 December 2019.

The issues in this Appeal are highly relevant to whether an investigation should be opened in the Situation in Palestine and hence whether Israelis will be liable to arrest on the basis of tendentious allegations of war crimes, crimes against humanity, the crime of aggression, or the crime of genocide.

Dr Dov Jacobs  and Joshua Kern of 9 Bedford Row Chambers, London are making oral submissions on behalf of UK Lawyers for Israel, the Lawfare Project,  the Simon Wiesenthal Center,  the Jerusalem Institute of Justice, International Legal Forum and My Truth.

The Presiding Judges are Judge Piotr Hofmanski, Judge Howard Morrison, Judge Luz del Carmen Ibanez Carranza , Judge Solomy Balungi Bossa and Judge Kimberley Prost.
