UKLFI: Supporting Israel with legal skills

Purported Bridal wear seller believes Zionists should be jailed

A woman purporting to own a bridal shop and events company had been reported to the counter-terrorism police after declaring that “people who believe in Zionism should be jailed”.

Kaira Thea wrote on X (formerly Twitter) on 16 January 2024: “People will believe anything, it’s time those people who believe in Zionism should be jailed. May there be peace on earth! Free Palestine [Palestinian flag].”

On her X profile she states she is the owner of KT Bridal, the owner of KT Events Hire and a skincare consultant.

Ms Thea wrote in a separate social media post: “Hamas are not terrorist, these politicians are who hide so much truth from us all. Hamas are freedom fighters. Media lie to us all, politicians lie to us all, politicians don’t care about us.”

Elsewhere on X, she described Hamas as “good people” and claimed that Rishi Sunak, the Prime Minister, and James Cleverly, the Foreign Secretary, are the “real terrorists”.

UKLFI has reported Ms Thea to the counter-terrorism Police for terrorism offenses.

In their report to the police, UKLFI explain its strong view that she invited support for a terrorist organisation which is proscribed pursuant to the Terrorism Act 2000, namely Hamas, and/or expressed an opinion or belief supportive of Hamas, being reckless as to whether persons to whom the expression was directed would be encouraged to support Hamas.

The report also says that Ms Thea “posted written material that was threatening, abusive or insulting and having regard to all the circumstances racial hatred was likely to be stirred up”. This is proscribed under the Public Order Act.

UKLFI has urged the police to investigate Ms Thea, explaining: “By using her social media platform, Ms Thea has demonstrated her hate against the Jewish people in her posts and her support for the Hamas terrorist group.”

Although Ms Thea states on Twitter that she owns KT Bridal, her purported bridal outlet should not be confused with another KT Bridal Shop in Shropshire.
