ITV has been asked to conduct an urgent review of the continued participation of Love Island contestant Jasmine Gaziza Müller after UK Lawyers for Israel (UKLFI) highlighted her social-media posts denying Israel’s legitimacy and expressing hostility towards its supporters.

UKLFI wrote to ITV chief executive Dame Carolyn McCall on 19 July 2026 after reviewing dozens of screenshots from Ms Müller’s public Instagram account, posted or reshared between approximately May 2021 and February 2024 and currently available to view on a Reel.

The material includes a graphic stating: “EDUCATE THE YOUNGER GENERATION. TELL THEM ITS CALLED PALESTINE NOT ISRAEL.”

Other posts describe Israel as a “colonial project” and “the entity”, while Ms Müller referred to it as a “shit ‘country’” that was “UNLAWFUL in EVERYTHING that it does”.

One photograph showed a sign reading: “NO WAY I AM SPENDING ETERNITY IN HELL WITH THE PRO-ISRAELERS!!!”

Another image depicted a fighter beside a map presenting Israel, the West Bank and Gaza together as Palestine, with Israel erased.

UKLFI stressed that it was not objecting to advocacy for Palestinian rights, calls for a ceasefire or criticism of Israeli policies. Its concern was with material denying Israel’s existence and directing hostility towards people who support it.

The letter said that this category includes many British Jews and warned that Israel could not be erased without the displacement or subjugation of millions of Jewish people.

UKLFI asked ITV to treat the matter primarily as a participant-welfare issue. It said that, if any contestant were Jewish, Israeli or pro-Israel, the risk to their welfare and dignity would be “obvious and foreseeable”.

It also warned that Love Island has a young audience and that promoting a contestant associated with such material, without assessment or context, risked normalising it and causing distress to Jewish and Israeli viewers.

UKLFI has asked ITV to confirm whether the material was identified during background checks, carry out an urgent welfare-led risk assessment, consider whether Ms Müller’s continued participation is appropriate and review its vetting procedures.

A UKLFI spokesperson said:

“This is not about preventing legitimate advocacy for Palestinians or criticism of an Israeli government. It concerns posts that erase Israel altogether and express hostility towards people simply because they support it.

“ITV must urgently assess the implications for other contestants and for its young viewers.”
