An offensive poster in Islington is to be removed as soon as possible, following a complaint from UK Lawyers for Israel (UKLFI) to the billboard owner.
The poster featured the slogan “See it, Say it, Genocide” written in faux Arabic script over a photograph of Green olives.

The billboard was up on the corner of Caledonian Road and Huntingdon Street in Islington. UKLFI wrote to Build Hollywood UK, the billboard owner, pointing out that the advert was being used to display anti-Israel propaganda which is divisive, offensive, intimidating and distressing to Jewish residents in the area and likely to promote antisemitism.
By displaying this offensive poster, the company may be committing an offence under S5 or S18 of the Public Order Act 1986.
Caroline Turner, director of UKLFI commented: “This kind of poster spreading false propaganda, stirs up hatred against Jews, and is likely to be very upsetting to Jewish and Israeli people in the area, or those passing through. We are pleased that the billboard company is taking immediate action to remove it.”
