UK Lawyers for Israel has published a paper pointing out some factual errors in the Decision of the majority of the court in the Prosecutor’s request for a ruling on the ICC’s territorial jurisdiction in Palestine.
The paper, by Jonathan Turner, chief executive of UKLFI, deals with whether Palestine’s instrument of accession was circulated to the State Parties, and whether they had an opportunity to examine the document, before it was accepted by the United Nations Secretary General on 6 January 2015.
Mr Turner has discovered that the instrument of accession was not circulated and so the other countries did not have an opportunity to examine it.
Questions have also been raised about whether the other countries agreed that Palestine had any particular territory.
