Delivery company DPD is issuing a reminder to all its drivers that they are only permitted to wear liveried uniform, on which no political symbols or slogans are displayed. This follows the incident last week when one of its drivers in Kentish Town was seen wearing a black Jihadi style headband, featuring a Palestinian flag, while delivering a parcel. UK Lawyers for Israel (UKLFI) reported this incident to DPD.

DPD’s General Counsel told UKLFI: “We are investigating the matter urgently to try to establish the identity of the driver to whom you refer, with a view to taking appropriate action thereafter. In the meantime, I confirm that DPD’s existing dress code for drivers only permits the wearing of liveried uniform (including headgear) on which no political symbols or slogans are displayed.
We regularly take the opportunity to remind all drivers and managers of the policy requirements around uniform standards, most recently with the concluding message: ‘To be clear, we will not compromise on these standards.
At DPD, our drivers are brand ambassadors and our customers expect an excellent doorstep delivery experience.’ A further reminder will be issued shortly in light of the matter described in your letter. Thank you for bringing this matter to DPD’s attention”
